Sell the Vision, Win the New Recruit

Great recruitment doesn’t start with “tell me about yourself.” It starts with a triage conversation — a genuine, honest look at what an 18-month career in real estate actually looks like.

Sell the Vision, Win the New Recruit

If every new recruit eventually becomes “just another person you have to manage,” it’s worth asking whether the problem started at the interview.

Most interviews are a one-hour guess. You ask the standard questions, get the standard answers, and hope the person in front of you is who they say they are. Too often, they’re not — and you don’t find out until three months in, when you’re back to doing their job as well as your own.

Great recruitment doesn't start with "tell me about yourself." It starts with a triage conversation — a genuine, honest look at what an 18-month career in real estate actually looks like.

In our process, step one is a triage interview. Before anything else, we sit candidates down and paint the real picture: the challenge, the growth, the income potential, the lifestyle a career in real estate can offer. We’re not selling a job. We’re selling a future.

Why does this matter so much? Because candidates who self-select in after hearing the truth are candidates who arrive with their eyes open — and their motivation intact. That’s the difference between a new recruit you have to chase, and one who chases the goal themselves.

From there, we don’t rush to a formal offer. Candidates move into a prospecting course first, proving to themselves — and to you — that they have the discipline the role demands. Only then do they come back for the formal interview.

Case Study: Century 21, Caloundra

Danelle and Jonathan came to us wanting to build genuine high performance inside their business, starting with the two-step interview process — and the discipline of slowing it down. From the process, three candidates were selected, with two making it through to the program. Between them, they’ve since generated in excess of fifteen listing opportunities for the team inside a three-month period. As they put it themselves — the key was staying hands-off and trusting the process. A genuine case study in the old adage: go slow to go fast.

This is how you filter for commitment before you invest a single dollar in onboarding — and before you’re back to carrying the load alone.
